July 2019 Life Update

A Personal Note: Thanks so much for checking this part of the blog. I know a lot of people who come here won’t know me personally or necessarily care about the comings and goings of my life, but I appreciate everyone who takes the time to read these updates.

The older I get, the more I see being born in July is a blessing. The summer months are a perfect time to slow down and reflect because they line up so well with most people’s annual vacations. Also my birthday is in July, so it’s definitely a month of self-reflection.

The conclusions I came to were that 28 was a good year in that everything was relatively stable… well, besides moving to the East Bay back in October. The big life events are that we brought Julie’s dog Cookie into our apartment and, I guess, that Julie and I got our own place. There weren’t any big changes at work but it was still a successful year for me with some big traffic milestones for E3 and being the top-viewed author in June.

In terms of what I actually did in July, Julie and I went to see a Metallica cover band and we said goodbye to our friend Ashley who’s moving on to do bigger and better things in LA. I didn’t do as much travelling as I would’ve liked this month (I went to San Diego and LA last month), but I’m going to St. Louis, Buffalo and NYC in August/September. I’ll be working from home in Buffalo, so give me a shout if you’re around!

In August I’ll be on vacation in St. Louis and will have some photos of Outside Lands to share. Here’s a photo of the Metallica cover band to tide you over.
